Arkapravo Ghosh is an accomplished guitarist, astrophysicist, and educator from West Bengal, India, whose musical identity is deeply rooted in the rich traditions of Latin, Jazz, and Rock. Under the mentorship of maestros Monojit Datta and Amyt Datta, he cultivated a strong foundation in the complexities of Latin music, jazz harmony, and the expressive legacy of Black musical traditions. With over a decade of experience as both a performer and teacher, Arkapravo has built a reputation for his versatility, technical depth, and musical sensitivity.
Over the years, he has been an integral part of several influential musical projects. He performed as the guitarist for Orient Express, India’s pioneering Latin-American band founded by Monojit Datta, and contributed significantly to Colour Bridge, a funk-jazz fusion project that played a key role in shaping his artistic journey. He was also a member of the commercially successful band Moksha Kolkata, with whom he has performed in over 1000 live shows across the country. His extensive performance experience spans some of India’s most respected venues, including The Pianoman Jazz Club (Delhi/Gurgaon), Depot 48, Sidecar, Hard Rock Café Kolkata, Someplace Else, The Humming Tree (Bangalore), Shisha Jazz Café (Pune), and many more.
Arkapravo Ghosh leads The Arkapravo Ghosh Collectives (TAGC), a modern jazz-rock and rhythm & soul project known for its distinctive blend of instrumental and vocal elements. Despite being a relatively new initiative, TAGC has already earned recognition across prominent venues and festivals in Kolkata, including The India Story, and maintains a strong presence with regular performances at spaces like AM:PM.
Alongside performing, he actively collaborates with artists nationwide, conducts workshops with esteemed mentors, and contributes to the music community as a judge at college festivals—continuing to grow as a versatile artist representing Hertz.
